Music & HymnsFather Of Light, We Sing In Thy Praise

"God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all." 1 John 1:5

Words: Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (circa 1525-1594); translated from Latin to English by Myrtle Koon Cherryman. This is a chorale, not well suited for congregational singing, but we include it because of the beauty of the music and its historical significance.

Music: Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina

Father of Light, we sing in Thy praise,
Father of Light, we sing in Thy praise.
Joyfully now, our voices we raise,
Joyfully now, our voices we raise.
May Thy peace come down from above,
May Thy peace come from above.
Fill our hearts with Thy great love.
Fill our hearts with Thy great love.
